Description
Marino Palma is a pianist, composer, and arranger who transcends the aesthetic boundaries of his art.
Immersed in the currents of Impressionism and jazz, Marino Palma explores improvised and electronic music. His diverse body of work, influenced by various artists such as Gil Evans, Count Basie, Quincy Jones, Steve Reich, and Arvo Pärt, seeks to bridge multiple aesthetic poles.
His Afro-Colombian roots serve as an endless source of inspiration. Steeped in the traditional mysticism of Latin America, he revisits a folkloric repertoire (Currulao, pasillos, etc.) with a modern twist.
An associate artist at the l’Abri Foundation (2018/2019) in Geneva, he graduated with a Master’s degree in jazz from HEMU Lausanne in 2020.
