A fierce and fiery programme of creative resistance from across the Brazilian diaspora in Europe

Ignited by shared concerns of a wave political ideologies from the right in both Brazil and parts of Europe, and the rising prevalence of ideologies which appear to divide rather than unite us, DIABA demonstrates some of the artistic and activist strategies that today forge forward as acts of creative resistance.

DIABA, filled with hope, showcases a hopeful exploration of how the past remains within us and how it returns in new forms. The programme offers a lens through which to look towards transformations, recognising we can no longer live going forwards as we have been living until now, otherwise all hell will break lose.

By bringing artists and audiences together DIABA explores our personal and political agency for reimagining a collective future, and proposes ways for us to think and rethink what we may or may not repeat. This is another form of resistance, to produce here in Europe considering Brazilian subjectivities.
