Captains of the Imagination is a Geneva-based hip-hop/soul collective that is redefining the contours of conscious music in Switzerland and beyond. Driven by a strong identity, committed songwriting, and powerful stage energy, the group is now led by its iconic voices — Evita Koné, Dr Koul & Imagine — who write, record, and perform alongside live musicians. At the crossroads of old-school-inspired hip-hop and contemporary soul, Captains of the Imagination blend spoken word, vocals, groove, and social commentary. Their performances are immersive and vibrant, navigating between deep introspection and explosive communion with the audience. The collective has shared the stage with legends such as Yasiin Bey and Big Daddy Kane, and has performed at major events like the Caribana Festival, the main stage at Cully Jazz, and the opening ceremony of the FIFDH. The shift to a live band format marks a major artistic turning point. Surrounded by talented instrumentalists such as Léon Phal, Maxence Sibille, Erwan Valazza, Zacharie Ksyk, and Allan Broomfield (DB.CHAN), the collective is developing a more organic, expansive, and vibrant sound.
