Description
A visual artist, performer and puppeteer who draws particular inspiration from materials and objects, Annina Mosimann presents Bestiarium, a show that is visual, auditory and fantastical in every sense of the word.
From a simple wooden crate, she weaves her entire narrative, bringing to life a house populated by all manner of powerful, material and animal-like non-human presences, coexisting under the same roof, just as they do in the young artist’s mind. At the heart of the installation, with hands and feet hard at work in a spectacular dissociation of movements, Annina Mosimann animates the space with her whole body. Hidden away inside the box, breathing life into every level of it, she manipulates objects and sounds, but also our gaze, as she playfully sets our imaginations free. From that moment on, anything is possible; just as in Surrealist works, everything is transformed; dream and reality blend together, the strange and the familiar, the unconscious and the certain. It comes as no surprise to learn that Annina Mosimann has worked with artists such as Nicole Mossoux, Renaud Herbin and Elise Vigneron.
Bestiarium, which appeals to both very young children and adults, was awarded the Swiss PREMIO Encouragement Prize for young talent.
