Initially trained in contemporary dance, Maud Blandel (born in 1986) continued her training at the Manufacture de Lausanne in the “mise en scène” section, then in work.master at the Haute Ecole d’Art et de Design (HEAD) in Geneva. Between 2013 and 2017, she collaborates closely with the director Karim Bel Kacem on the transdisciplinary creations carried by Think Tank Théâtre (Blasted, Gulliver, Mesure pour mesure, 23 rue Couperin – point de vue d’un pigeon sur l’architecture).

In 2015 she created I L K A, a structure for creation and reflection around choreographic practices and develops her own work with the creations of TOUCH DOWN (2016), and Lignes de conduite (2018).

She assisted Rachid Ouramdane in the creation of Murmuration for the Ballet de Loraine in 2016 and, more recently, the composer and director Heiner Goebbels in his latest production Everything that happened and would happen for the Manchester International Festival.

Concerned with the expanded notion of choreography, during the 2018-19 season she is developing several laboratories with, among others, students from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie (Arles), or with Contrechamps – Ensemble de Musique Contemporaine de Genève in order to rethink choreographic practice with regard to other mediums.

Maud Blandel is an associate artist at the Arsenic – center for contemporary scenic art in Lausanne since September 2018.
